Day 3 in New Orleans had spectacularly bad weather, alternating between violent storms and humid drizzle. Lots of the roads were like small rivers.
I finally hooked up with Paul, one of my travelling companions for the road trip, and we decided that, given the apalling weather, the best course of action was to spend the afternoon in bars.. ..not the most original plan, but an enjoyable one nonetheless.
In one break from the storms we saw a New Orleans wedding procession, complete with jazz band.
We started off in Ye Olde Absinthe House and then moved on to Boondock Saint, just off Bourbon Street, where we settled in for a few hours of drinking and generally talking bollocks.
At about 10pm we moved on to the Deja Vu Restaurant and Bar for much needed solids. I had, yet another, Po' Boy - this time with BBQ pulled pork - before heading back to the hotel to crash out.
