This is a thin, tangy, spicy sauce with a kick of chilli that originates in the US state of South Carolina. It is splashed on BBQ foods to help cut through the fattier meats. I also mix it with my pulled pork when it's reheating in the slow cooker.
- 375ml cider vinegar
- 125ml tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried red chilli flakes
- Mix ingredients together in a pan.
- With hob turned off, stir until salt & sugar has dissolved - if the salt & sugar does not all dissolve then turn the hob on low heat and keep stirring until they are incorporated.
